Violent Messiahs - Genesis
A mysterious door hides something old and alive.
A hyper-violent sentinel prowls the streets.
A serial killer leaves only a poem for a clue.
A female cop tries desperately to understand how it all connects.
Welcome to Rankor Island, a carnival of social ills.
In the year 2000 Image Comics published the first issue of what seemed to be just another dark vigilante comic. But, with deliberate precision, Violent Messiahs began to reveal its true nature. Image had unleashed nothing short of a genre bending theological sci-fi mystery love story about criminal politics, man's search for individuality, and the nature of violence.
Now, we're proud to present VIOLENT MESSIAHS: GENESIS, 64 pages of hard to find material documenting the humble beginnings of it all, including:
* The prologue of the VIOLENT MESSIAHS dark saga, a reprint of the WIZARD 1/2, using Tone Rodriguez's gorgeous uninked pencils. See Cheri Major's last case on the mean streets of New York City. Stumble across the Family Man's murder scene with Detective Earnest Houston, and watch as Citizen Pain, blood still on his hands, experiences love at first sight.
* All 32 pages of the original B&W VIOLENT MESSIAHS from Hurricane Ent. First published in '97 and pencilled in graphic-noir style by co-creator William O'Neill!
* Never before seen pages from William O'Neill's unpublished 2nd issue!
And...
* A Tone Rodriguez sketchbook comprising the first conceptual work on the Image series!
