All the stone cold realities, the harsh truths and the lies... of a home country at war.
NEW YORK CITY ... otherwise known as the no man's land in this second American civil war. Cut off from his support system and family, rookie journalist Matty Roth remains the lone voice for those left behind in the world's most dangerous war zone.
In "M.I.A.", Matty Roth is adrift, wandering around a forgotten corner of the city, grappling with the crushing guilt of his role in recent events. Unable to deal with the notion of rejoining society, he clings to a little toy radio and just tries to make it through each day. But when he stumbles across a crashed helicopter and its long-dead pilots, he gets a glimpse of possible salvation, or at least the first step down that road, in returning their dog tags to their next of kin.
Following the most pivotal event in the DMZ series, "M.I.A." charts the further evolution of the rise and fall of Matty Roth. Also included in this volume is the anniversary special issue "Notes from the Underground", featuring guest art by Jim Lee, Dave Gibbons, Eduardo Risso, and many more.
